This coastal estate already possessed a remarkably rich and mature garden—layered, personal, and full of character. The challenge was not to replace it, but to bring greater coherence to a complex landscape composed of several distinct garden areas, buildings, paths, courtyards, and outdoor living spaces. The design reorganizes and connects these elements while preserving the individuality and accumulated character of the existing garden.
